The Way to Find Low Cost Sober Living

Going into any type of treatment program for drug and alcohol abuse and addiction is the huge step for the addict. This step can do wonders for them and change their entire life positively. A Christian treatment program provides professional treatment as well as compassion and care towards the addict who finds themselves in a vulnerable situation. Addiction makes the addict suffer great hardship, pain and hurt for the rest of their lives if change does not come. Losing their minds, their lives, their families and their jobs are the consequences which the addict can bear. Friends will turn away when they have tried all that they can and the addict won't respond.
This kind of suffering does not have to continue, if the person is determined to embrace sober living and lead a life that includes sobriety and normalcy. Help is only a phone call away and everyone can be offered that kind of help. The idea is to be ready and willing to receive the available help. An addict generally does not think that they have a problem. They see it as their business and no one should interfere. They use the drugs and alcohol to medicate the underlying pain and don't want to face it head on. Until they see it as a problem, it won't go away nor can it be treated successfully.
If the person does not want to get into an organized or structured program, they can choose sober living arrangements, but this is dangerous for the person who is not disciplined and organized and who has been a heavy abuser over a longer period of time. Rehab centers would offer a more supervised program for these individuals, but it can be more expensive as well especially if the patient chooses inpatient care. Sober living homes are much cheaper. The addict only has to pay a nominal monthly fee while the addict in an inpatient program will pay in excess of $20,000 each month. With good medical health insurance, this is not a problem, but for someone who has absolutely no health insurance, it can pose a problem for them especially if inpatient care is essential and they cannot afford it.
Sober living is also a comfortable environment with more leniencies, less supervision and a gradual process of recovery. It also offers the addict a longer treatment period in which they can have a chance to recuperate from years of addiction and learn new ways to handle their life.
Group therapy and group workshops are part of the program. The addict can use these opportunities to communicate and socialize with other residents that are going through similar issues. It is a time of bonding and forming new friendships and relationships. It can become a very productive time for the addict unlike what they had previously experienced while they were involved in their destructive behavior.
